Marriott International has announced a signed agreement with HTL Gateway LLC to open an AC Hotels by Marriott in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This development marks Marriott’s first entry into the Mongolian market. The hotel is expected to open in 2027.
The AC Hotel by Marriott Ulaanbaatar will be located in the Khan Uul District, a rapidly expanding area of the city. The site is strategically positioned along Buyant-Ukhaa Road, providing convenient access to the Central Business District, Sukhbaatar Square, and Chinggis Khaan International Airport. The location is surrounded by key attractions and infrastructure, including the Buyant Ukhaa Sport Palace, AIC Steppe Arena, and a new commercial and residential hub in Yaarmag.
The hotel is planned to feature 190 guestrooms and suites. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a grab-and-go AC Store, and a lounge and bar. Additional amenities are expected to include a heated indoor swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and an AC Library. For meetings and events, the property will offer flexible facilities, including a junior ballroom, function rooms, and breakout spaces.
This agreement reflects Marriott International’s strategy to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region. The company aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers by offering accommodations in key locations across the continent. Mongolia, which welcomed over 800,000 international visitors in 2024, is emerging as a significant destination for both business and leisure.
The collaboration with HTL Gateway LLC aligns with the Mongolian government’s initiatives to boost the tourism sector and expand the country’s presence in international markets. The new hotel is anticipated to contribute to the evolving hospitality landscape in Ulaanbaatar.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
